Marshmallow, acrylic and enamel on canvas, 80 x 80 x 2 cm

Inspired by my lust for sunshine and beauty in the dead of winter, I painted Marshmallow to bring me closer to spring and the colour and warmth of a sunny day. I remember blossom on trees and flowers in bloom and the delight of being outdoors and feeling heat on my cheek. The flowers are sleeping but soon they will wake and a riot of pink will greet me. Created in an expressionist style with dripped and thrown paint, ghostly skeletons of roses suggest the winter passed whilst the delicately painted flowers abound in wild joy. Butterflies flit and fly above the flowers as a symbol of life after the long winter months. Marshmallow is ready to hang
