Symphony in Pink, Oil and enamel on canvas, 140 x 100 x 3 cm on two panels each measuring 70 x 100 x 3 cm

Symphony in Pink. How would I define a Symphony? For me, it is when all components work together to form something beautiful. Each separate entity is moving toward chaos but together all aspects resonate at the same frequency to create something astounding. Nature is perfect in her compositions.

Inspired by endless pink wild flower fields and set against summer blue skies. I intentionally used an expressionist background to suggest the continual movement and change of wildlife. Candy pink petals fill the canvas and take me back to childhood memories of a landscape of daisies and the blossom spring brings. I have included flashes of gold iridescent paint which captures and reflects light to suggest the sun rays. The paint is loose and expressionistic to suggest the moment and its fleetingness, like bubbles popping as they rise up to the sky. Symphony in Pink
