Sweet Tangled Rose Briar, oil, and enamel on canvas, is a large abstract expressionist painting measuring 200 x 120 x 2 cm on two canvases (Diptych) each measuring 100 x 120 x 2 cm. I wanted to create a painting full of dynamic movement whilst representing a wild tangled rose briar, with an abundance of sweet, pink wild roses suggesting the beautiful simplicity of nature. The expressionist hedgerow signifies a movement toward chaos while the delicate petals and flowers give a focal point to the painting and sit juxtaposed against the thick undergrowth in the background.
