Summer Bounty, oil and enamel on canvas, 180 x 120 x 3 cm
Summer Bounty, blue skies streaked with clouds, the air is warm like a soft breath. The yellow field sways, a ripple of gold and a murmur of forgotten days. Pink poppies speak of lost love.
In Summer Bounty I wanted to show the abundance of beauty in summers bounty of flowers. A vast expanse of blue sky and yellow blossoms. Memories of my childhood running through flower fields, hiding from a long forgotten lover and laughing under a summer sun. A remembered warmth of summers past. I have painted Summer Bounty in an expressionist style using dynamic application of paint to create movement and texture to represent the movement of the sky and fields in a summer breeze. Flecks of gold paint shine iridescent like flashes of golden sunshine and delicate white floral elements hang like a mist over the yellow bloom. Summer Bounty
