SOLD The wild place is a large abstract expressionist painting measuring 200 x 100 x 3 cm, It is painted on two 100 x 100 x 3 cm panels designed to be hung next to each other. As summer light fades, giving way to morning damp and autumn hues, a wild place, deep in the garden, continues to bloom. Wild roses, unkempt and wiry, force their blooms toward the light. The scent of the flowers hangs close to the undergrowth as summers final farewell becomes imminent. The last beautiful and delicate butterflies of summer flutter around the wild place, pollinating the flowers in preparation for the cycle of life to begin once again. This is my inspiration for this abstract work. The finely drawn butterflies contrast wonderfully against the abstract nature of the artwork, which gives the viewer a starting point to explore the shapes and colours within the image. The painting has black boxed edges and is ready to hang. The wild place will be shipped in a bespoke wooden crate to ensure its safety in transit.
