Pure Joy, Oil and enamel on canvas, 162 x 100 x 2 cm on two panels each measuring 81 x 100 x 2 cm (Diptych)
My inspiration for this painting is a brilliant yellow shout of joy. In the corner of my garden, where the wild things grow, dark violet inky shadows complement the fierce yellow wild warmth of Forsythias Spring cry. A celebration of colour. That golden yellow light fills the soul and brings courage, strength and anticipation of summer sun. Sharp as lemons and sweet as honey. A pure joy, unpreened and savage, the wild beauty of the bold Forsythia. The Forsythia roars “Look at me, love all of me, my thorns, my sweet soft petals, my courage to be only what I am”. This painting is about joy and the strength to be without regret or guilt or needing the acceptance of others. This painting is proud to be.
Pure Joy is a large painting on two panels (Diptych) designed to be hung next to each other. Pure Joy
