In Polka Dot Poppies I wanted to capture the wild, untamed beauty of a field of poppies swaying in a summer breeze. To create this I have used an expressionist style of painting to reflect the movement and vitality of the fields and poppies. Dripped and splashed paint captures the life and motion of the poppy heads. Huge floral faces smile through the suggested foliage. Polka Dot Poppies is carefree abandon and wild delight. It is painted on two canvas panels designed to be hung next to each other. Polka Dot Poppies has been coated in a satin varnish and is ready to hang.
