Meet me in the moonlit glen was inspired by a late evening walk in the woods. Blue violet shadows and crisp cool air. A strong perfume of sweetbrier and wild thyme. Walking through the trees I feel a gentle calm. The moonlight guides me and touches the glade with violet grey light. A soothing melody of rippling leaves murmurs through the tree tops. I take your hand, beneath the dark green grove. Meet me in the moonlit glen is essentially abstract colour. The colours have been chosen to reflect a moment in time, a coolness and a hidden beauty. Within the abstract colour I suggest elements of nature to give the painting a sense of place. Creeping vines and twisted roses emerge from the colour then fade back into the painting. Juxtaposed against this are delicate, ephemeral butterflies hovering in the light. The viewer is drawn in and around the painting, finding new focal points and images then stepping back and allowing the painting to become abstract light and shadow once again. Meet me in the moonlit glen has boxed edges that are painted black. It has been coated with a satin varnish to protect the pigments. Meet me in the moonlit glen is ready to hang. 75 x 115 x 1cm
