The Wildflower Fields, oil on canvas 170 x 110 x 3 cm
The Wildflower Fields, sunshine yellow blooms, a landscape of flowers fills my soul with happiness.
I am always enamored by vast open landscapes where the horizon goes on endlessly and there is so much space and open field around me that I feel small and connected to the world in a way that grounds me. The simplicity of the colour panels of open sky and fields of nature are breath taking and remind me that simple design can often be the most moving. The Wildflower Fields has a strong linear divide between sky and land. This divide suggests a feeling of open space and endless fields. The strong yellow colour field is offset by violet tones and delicate white flowers are reminiscent of dandelion clocks within the flowers. Strong vibrant red poppies dance in the landscape and gold flashes of dripped paint suggest wild undergrowth beneath the buttercups. The oil paint is applied thickly with textured palette knifed strokes. The Wildflower Fields is ready to hang.
