Boisterous, oil, acrylic, enamel and ink on two panels, 162 x 100 x 3 cm (each panel measures 81 x 100 x 3 cm)
Boisterous, a celebration of flamboyant wild flowers, scarlet red and deep cerise against indigo blue skies. Flashes of spindly yellow dandelions and gold shards of light. Butterflies hover attracted to the floral spectacle. These wild blooms are in your face. No shying away. They are on display in all their naked beauty. Born to be….wild….boisterous.
I was inspired by the abundance of spring time wildflowers covering the hills near my home. It is just spectacular at the moment… although destined to be short lived as the sun grows stronger toward summer. I have included flashes of gold iridescent paint which captures and reflects light to suggest the sun rays and beautiful delicate butterflies flutter high in the sky. I have kept the paint loose to suggest the moment and its fleetingness. Created in an expressionist style with impressionist accents Boisterous has been painted on two separate panels each measuring 81 x 100 x 3 cm giving a total image size of 162 x 100 x 3 cm. The panels can be hung next to each other or with a gap between them. Boisterous is ready to hang.
