Cerulean Serenity captures the quiet, rhythmic beauty of a garden at its most peaceful. My focus was on the interplay of cool tones, layering vibrant cerulean, soft violet, and touches of seafoam to create a sanctuary of colour. I painted these hydrangeas with a thick, tactile application of paint, building up a mosaic of petals that feels both lush and light. Each brushstroke is an invitation to slow down and breathe, mimicking the gentle clusters of petals in the cooling shade. By balancing the deeper blues with airy, light-filled highlights, I’ve aimed to create a sense of stillness that radiates outward from the canvas. To me, this piece represents a moment of total tranquillity, a visual deep breath designed to bring a cooling, meditative energy into your living space. It is a celebration of nature’s ability to calm the mind through the simple, harmonic repetition of blue.
