Falling in Pink, oil and enamel on canvas, 170 x 110 x 3 cm
Falling in Pink. I sit in the shade of the lavender pendants and fresh green leaves. Pale pink Clematis climb within the branches…transient beauty, fleeting and startling.
In the shade of the Blossoming trees I look at the beauty around me, the tangled branches and abundance of colour, the perfection and the chaos, twisted beauty.
My inspiration for this beautiful semi abstract floral painting is a wonderful arboretum near my home where you can sit under the shade of a tree on the banks of a lake and let hours slip by. In spring time the blossoms on the trees are breath taking. The painting uses a contrast of expressionist dripped paint and palette knifed flowers with finely painted branches and textured blossoms to create a stunning artwork which places the viewer in the shade of lilac vines and sweet pink clematis.
