Sun Kissed, oil and acrylic on canvas, 200 x 120 x 2 cm on two canvas panels each measuring 100 x 120 x 2 cm (Diptych).

Sun Kissed, blue skies streaked with clouds, the air is warm like a soft breath. The yellow field sways, a ripple of gold and a murmur of forgotten days.  Red poppies speak of lost love and blue “Forget-me-nots” hint of lost love and friendship.

In Sun Kissed  I wanted to create a simple painting expressing open space. A vast expanse of sky and field. Memories of my childhood running in the fields, hiding from a long forgotten lover and laughing under a summer sun. A remembered warmth of summers past. I have painted Sun Kissed in an expressionist style using a dynamic application of paint to create movement and texture, to represent the movement of the sky and fields in a summer breeze. The painting is essentially colour fields using the red poppies as a focal point to bring the viewer into the landscape. Flecks of gold paint shine iridescent like flashes of golden sunshine. Sun Kissed is ready to hang.
