Endless Skies, 210 x 100 x 2 cm on 3 canvases each measuring 70 x 100 x 2 cm (Triptych). Acrylic and enamel on canvas.
Endless Skies, so vast, so beautiful. The mustard fields sway in the breeze and shimmer like a yellow sea into the horizon. I hold my father’s hand. The sun is rising and we walk our dog together. The world feels simple and calm.
Inspired by childhood memories Endless Skies reminds me of simpler days, of endless summers and of childhood friends.
Painted using an expressionist style, the sky is a multitude of colour, the dripped line denotes the movement of wind and time. Gold flashes shimmer through catching the eye like sunlight. The yellow foreground has the suggestion of mustard flowers and the undergrowth looks tangled and chaotic. The painting as whole appears simple but the movement and texture in the artwork craft a memory of passing time. The painting is ready to hang.
