Celebration, oil and enamel on canvas, 120 x 70 x 3 cm.
Celebration…I am joy. I do not hide I shine my light. Bold and vivacious, unkempt and pure of beauty. Mother nature’s celebration of life. A wild floral soiree of pink swaying heads, reaching upwards towards the sun through tangled grass and spindly vines. These flowers are exuberant. These flowers are wild. These flowers are in carefree abandon… Celebrating life.
In Celebration I wanted to capture the wild, untamed beauty of a field of pink wild flowers swaying in a summer breeze. To create this I have used an expressionist style of painting to reflect the movement and vitality of the fields and flowers. Dripped and splashed paint captures the life and motion of the wild flowers and gold flecks reflect light into the painting. Celebration is carefree abandon and wild delight. A Celebration of pink flowers swaying in the breeze.
