Beneath is a large painting which was inspired by the artworks of Gustav Klimt. Klimt ‘s women were aloof and often showed disdain so I wanted to keep the woman in my painting distant and cold. She is distrustful and above reproach. The faces of the shroud surrounding here are representative of the many emotions we feel. Jealousy, Love, Anger, Compassion It is full of texture and colour and the use of iridescent gold paint alters how the painting shines in different light. The green palm frond signifies life and our tentative hold upon it.
