Ephemeral, transitory beauty.
Inspired by nature and the fleeting bloom of a summer garden, I wanted to capture an ephemeral moment where butterflies dance above hydrangea flowers. Created using expressionist inspired dripped and thrown paint, Ephemeral incorporates impressionist floral elements in a maximalist colour scheme to suggest peace and happiness and a love for life. Delicate butterflies hover over the floral elements, dancing in the light of the expressionist sky and white morning star flowers carpet the base of the painting in contrast to the bright turquoise and pink hydrangea flowers.
