Totem is a contemporary painting using abstract expressionist techniques juxtaposed against fine art detail. The painting is full of dynamic energy and texture. Totem has been created using free movement of fluid paint to define the shape of the Tiger then enhanced with strong palette knifed areas of colour. Thickly applied strokes of oil paint represent the shaggy coat of the big cat whilst small gold flecks add depth and interest to the painting.
