The hedgerow, forgotten, unnoticed. I look through the twisted limbs, knotted and tangled. Light, shadow, a hidden place, neglected. Protected by thorns, wildflower flourish, a contrast of dead wood and red petals, life’s joy and tears. Hedgerows so often go unseen. Their crooked branches not valued for beauty and grace. But here grows a wild beauty. The painting had to remain savage and raw, a tempest of spiny limbs, offset against gentle, delicate flowers. Hedgerow is a large painting measuring 100 x 120 x 4cm. The boxed edges are painted White and the painting has been coated with a satin varnish. Hedgerow is ready to hang.
