Spring Symphony, Oil and enamel on canvas, 200 x 120 x 2 cm on two panels each measuring 100 x 120 x 2 cm.
Spring Symphony. How would I define a Symphony? For me, it is when all components work together to form something beautiful. Each separate entity is moving toward chaos but together all aspects resonate at the same frequency to create something astounding. Nature is perfect in her compositions.
Inspired by endless mustard fields dotted with wildflowers and set against springtime blue skies. I intentionally used an expressionist background to suggest the continual movement and change of wildlife. Yellow mustard flowers fill the canvas and take me back to childhood memories of a landscape of yellow fields and a beckoning summer. Delicate pink wildflowers break up the yellow and keep the composition fresh. Spring Symphony is ready to hang.
