Baber Sher, oil on canvas, 120 x 120 x 4 cm
Baber Sher is a vibrant tribute to strength, pride, and untamed spirit. The title comes from the Punjabi phrase “Baber Sher,” meaning lion-hearted, a phrase that’s always inspired me to face each day with courage. I wanted to capture that energy in paint. The style blends expressive realism with abstract expressionism, using thick, dynamic brushstrokes and a fiery palette of oranges, magentas, and purples to bring the lion’s spirit to life. Painted in oil, I built the piece layer by layer, letting each stroke move like a wild mane in the wind. Swirling patterns in the background echo the lion’s inner fire and lend a dreamlike rhythm to the whole scene. This painting is my ode to fearlessness … bold, colorful, and unafraid.
