A Thousand Shards of Light is a celebration of colour, movement and the extraordinary beauty of light. Rising mountain forms emerge from deep pools of midnight blue, while a brilliant sky of champagne and gold breaks above them. Light appears to fracture as it falls, scattering across the landscape in thousands of luminous fragments. The painting is built from countless individual drops, splashes and overlapping marks. Areas of intense colour gather and disperse across the surface, allowing the landscape to emerge almost instinctively from abstraction. Flecks of gold, ochre, aqua and unexpected jewel tones bring an additional richness and energy to the darker depths. A Thousand Shards of Light is immersive and unapologetically expressive.
